THE PERSON BEHIND THE CULTURE

COMPTON TAUGHT HIM
WHERE HE CAME FROM.
THE KITCHEN GIVES HIM
SOMETHING TO SHARE.

Clif was born in Compton, California. When he moved to New Orleans as a late teen, he brought those roots with him and began making room for another place to call home.

Then Katrina changed that home. Living through the storm and the displacement of friends and family became part of his story — not a chapter to turn into a slogan. Rebuilding takes time. So does learning how to carry the people and places you love into whatever comes next.

His journey eventually brought him to Boston. Along the way came sourdough — and Ryan and Sophia, the other loves of his life.

Crown & Crumble brings those chapters to the same table. Compton expression. New Orleans soul. Boston attitude. And the patient, hands-on work of making something from scratch. Come hungry. Find your favorite. Take something good home.

THE LOAF IS ONLY THE BEGINNING

SWEET SIDE.
STREET SIDE.

A little sweet. A little savory.
Something good for the whole crew.

FROM THE KITCHEN

A LITTLE KNOW-HOW.
A LOT MORE GOOD BITES.

You've got the loaf. Let's make the most of it.
Notes written to be useful — not homework.

No. 01

Keep your loaf fresh

Store cut-side down on a board for a day or two, or in a paper bag inside a bread box. Skip the fridge — it stales bread faster. For longer, slice and freeze, then toast straight from frozen.

Meet the Mother Culture

Feed your starter equal weights of flour and water, keep it somewhere warm, and use it when it's bubbly and has roughly doubled. Resting in the fridge? Feed it weekly. Never eat raw starter or dough.

No. 03

Give yesterday's bread a second act

Rub thick slices with garlic and olive oil for crostini. Tear and toast into croutons. Soak cinnamon or Nutella loaf in custard for the kind of French toast people talk about.

BEFORE WE BREAK BREAD.

Ingredients & allergens

Every Crown & Crumble bake starts with organic, wholesome ingredients whenever possible, and is made with love, flavor, heart and soul. Each item lists its ingredients and allergens on its menu card.

Our products are made in a home kitchen that also handles wheat, milk, eggs, soy, tree nuts, peanuts and sesame. While we take care to keep ingredients separate, any item may contain or come into contact with these allergens, and we cannot guarantee that any product is allergen-free.

Special requests are always welcome. Please message us before you order, and we will make every reasonable effort to honor dietary needs and allergy concerns. Because cross-contact is always possible, accommodations cannot be guaranteed.

By ordering, you agree that you are responsible for reviewing the ingredient and allergen information and for deciding whether a product is suitable for you and anyone you share it with. Consumption is at the discretion and responsibility of the individual. If you have a severe allergy, please consult your physician before consuming. Honey products should not be given to infants under 12 months.

Sourdough starter

Starter is a live culture of raw flour and water. Do not eat raw starter or unbaked dough. Bake thoroughly before eating.

Dog treats

Dog treats are made for dogs, not people. They are a supplemental snack, not a complete diet. Peanut butter used is xylitol-free. Introduce new treats gradually and check with your vet if your dog has allergies or dietary restrictions.

Pickup

Orders are prepared for the pickup date and window you choose. Please arrive within your window. Orders not collected by the end of the next business day may be released without refund.

Changes, cancellations & refunds

Need a change? Message us from your account as early as possible. Orders can be cancelled for a full refund until preparation starts. Once your order is in the oven, we can't offer refunds except for quality problems reported on pickup day. Gift cards are non-refundable and never expire.

Privacy

We store your name, email, phone (optional), order history and messages to run your orders. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. We don't sell your information. Ask us any time to delete your account.
